The Fergus Falls Area Special Education Cooperative hosts two Day Treatment programs. One program is designed for students age preschool through fourth grade and one program is designed for students in grades five through eight. Both programs are located in Fergus Falls.
The Day Treatment Program is a collaborative program between Otter Tail County, the Fergus Falls Area Special Education Cooperative (ISD#935) and Lakeland Mental Health. Students meeting criteria for this program have their educational and mental health needs met initially in a self-contained setting with the goal of educational mainstream experiences and graduation from the program. Student length of placement in the program depends on a student’s individual needs. Staff include teachers, paraprofessionals, social workers, psychologist, and mental health providers. Professionals referring a student to the Day Treatment Program may obtain an application from: Sandy Kitzman, Special Education Administrator, firstname.lastname@example.org
Screening of applications for the #935 self contained program with the co-location of daily mental health services takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 8:15 a.m. Applications must be submitted to Sandy Kitzman 48 hours before each monthly meeting. For further information please reference the criteria and application information on this website.
